Carbon Footprint Analysis & Management Plans
The carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gas emissions (e.g. carbon dioxide, methane) of a define population, system/activity, product, organisation and/or event. All relevant sources within the predetermined boundary are considered and calculated as carbon dioxide equivalent utilising the various relevant 100-year global warming potential.
The development of a carbon footprint and associated management plan allows companies and/or individuals know and understand their impact on the environment and more importantly provides means of reducing that impact. By making companies more efficient in terms of carbon usage (e.g. energy usage) there will be a decrease in carbon emissions which indirectly will result in a decrease in costs to the company, e.g. through efficient use of energy.
